Privacy policy
This Privacy Policy explains how Valor handles personal information when you visit valortheme.com, use the contact form, or submit the download form. Valor is operated as a sole proprietorship by an individual based in Finland — see the Legal Notice for full operator details.
We aim to collect as little personal information as possible. This site does not use advertising cookies, tracking pixels, analytics that profile visitors, or any third-party marketing scripts.
Information we collect
Information is collected in three ways on this site:
- Contact form: your name, email address, and message — used only to reply to your inquiry.
- Download form: your email address, Shopify store domain, and (optionally) your purpose — used only to deliver the download link and record license acceptance.
- Update notifications (optional): if you subscribe, your email address — used only to email you when a new Valor theme version is released. Every such email includes a one-click unsubscribe link.
Aside from the optional update-notification list (stored by Resend, see below), we do not maintain a separate database of visitors. Contact and download submissions are delivered directly to our email inbox via Resend.
How we use it
Contact and download submissions are used solely for the immediate transaction: replying to your inquiry, delivering the download link, and keeping a basic record of license acceptance. The only ongoing list we keep is the optional update-notification list you join by subscribing — used solely to tell you when a new Valor theme version is released, with a one-click unsubscribe link in every email. We do not use your details for advertising, we do not share them with third parties for marketing, and we do not sell them.
Download submissions may be retained in our email inbox as a basic record of license acceptance and to help with support history. This is not used as a marketing mailing list.
Legal basis for processing (GDPR)
Our legal basis under the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR Article 6) is our legitimate interest in responding to inquiries and delivering the downloads you requested, and where your message relates to a possible purchase, taking steps prior to entering into a contract at your request.
For the optional update-notification list, our legal basis is your consent (GDPR Article 6(1)(a)), which you give by subscribing and can withdraw at any time by using the unsubscribe link in any email.
Third-party services
This site relies on the following service providers, each of which has its own privacy practices:
- Cloudflare — hosting and content delivery. Cloudflare processes basic technical data (IP address, request metadata) at the network edge for security and performance. See Cloudflare's Privacy Policy.
- Cloudflare Web Analytics — aggregated, privacy-respecting analytics about site usage. It does not use cookies, does not fingerprint browsers, does not track visitors across sites, and does not retain IP addresses long-term. Data is aggregated (page views per page, referrer source, country, browser type, Core Web Vitals performance metrics) and used only to understand traffic patterns and improve the site. See Cloudflare Web Analytics for technical details.
- Download counts — we keep an aggregate count of how many times each theme version has been downloaded. This stores only totals (a number per version and per day); it records no personal data — no IP address, no cookie, no identifier — and cannot be tied to an individual visitor.
- Resend — sends transactional emails (contact-form delivery and download-link emails) and stores the optional update-notification subscription list (your email address) on our behalf. See Resend's Privacy Policy.
- Proton Mail — receives email sent to our addresses. See Proton's Privacy Policy.
Cookies
This site does not set any cookies. We do not use Google Analytics, Facebook Pixel, or any similar tracking tools. The privacy-respecting analytics described above (Cloudflare Web Analytics) operate without cookies or persistent identifiers.
Data retention
Form submissions remain in our email inbox for support history. Resend retains transactional email logs for a limited period as part of its delivery service. You may request deletion of any past message at any time by contacting us — see below.
If you subscribe to update notifications, your email address is kept in our Resend audience until you unsubscribe (via the link in any update email) or ask us to remove it.
Your rights under GDPR
If you are in the European Union, the United Kingdom, or another jurisdiction with similar protections, you have the right to:
- Request access to any personal information we hold about you
- Request correction of inaccurate information
- Request deletion ("right to be forgotten")
- Request a copy of your data (portability)
- Object to our processing
- Withdraw your consent at any time — for the update-notification list, use the unsubscribe link in any email (or email us)
- Lodge a complaint with your national supervisory authority (in Finland: Office of the Data Protection Ombudsman)
To exercise any of these rights, email [email protected].
International transfers
Cloudflare, Resend, and Proton are international services, which may process data outside the EU/EEA. They rely on standard contractual clauses and other transfer mechanisms recognized under GDPR.
Children
Valor is a developer product not intended for minors. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 16.
Changes to this policy
If we update this policy, the "Last updated" date at the top of this page will change. Significant changes will be highlighted on the homepage where appropriate.
